Giving Back Is Always Worth the Drive: Deez Cards and the Abbott Phillips Memorial Golf Outing

At Deez Cards, we believe sports have always been about more than the game.

They are about the people you meet, the memories you make, the lessons you learn, and the communities that come together around them.

That is one of the reasons we were proud to be part of the Abbott Phillips Memorial Golf Outing, held on September 3rd at the Orchard Creek Golf Course in Altamont. The third annual event, hosted by Phillips Hardware, brought golfers, sponsors, and community members together in support of Make-A-Wish Vermont & Northeast New York. A Day on the Course. A Bigger Purpose.

There is something super special about a charity golf outing. You spend the day outside, compete with friends, laugh at the occasional bad shot, celebrate the good ones, and enjoy some friendly competition. But underneath all of it is something much bigger: people choosing to come together to help others. That is what makes events like the Abbott Phillips Memorial Golf Outing so meaningful. Every sponsorship, foursome, donation, and hour spent on the course helps support a cause that can make an incredible difference in the lives of children and families.

For us at Deez Cards, being part of that effort is exactly what community is supposed to look like as sports like golf create connections. A foursome becomes a team. Strangers become playing partners. Friendly competition turns into conversation. And for a day like this, all of those individual connections come together around a shared goal. That is something we at Deez Cards are proud to be a part of.

Giving Back Is Part of Our Story

Deez Cards was built around a simple idea: passion with a purpose. Giving back is already a part of who we are. Deez Cards has supported organizations including the Epilepsy Foundation through our retail donation partnership, and we have looked for opportunities here in upstate New York to support sports, families, and causes throughout our community.

Supporting the Abbott Phillips Memorial Golf Outing was another opportunity to put that belief into action. It was a perfect day of sports community and compassion. One where businesses are not just places to shop, but members of the communities they serve. And one where the things we are passionate about can help create something meaningful for someone else.

For Deez Cards, this was about much more than a day on the golf course.
